I will never understand why people post pictures of men in uniform and say “I want this” or “I wish this was my boyfriend” .. do you really…?
cause you don’t know til you go through it.. I know my boyfriend is only in bootcamp, but just knowing what his future entails is scary enough. not having communication with someone you love isn’t desirable at all. you shouldn’t strive to be with a man in uniform.
of course I am beyond proud that my boyfriend is on his way to becoming a Marine, but I would never wish this upon anyone, even myself. if there were anything I could do to change things, or make this simpler I would in a heart beat.
I know this experience will be amazing for him and make us grow stronger.
but I am so fed up with people glorifying the long distance relationship. it is nothing to be desired and I don’t suggest going after a military man looking for a relationship. love just happens, you can’t make yourself fall in love with a military man.
I happen to have fallen head over heels for one, and I don’t regret a second of it.
but ladies, think before you speak..
